More than half of 2023 has passed by and we are officially in August. August is special, it’s the beginning of the festive season. From now, until the end of the year, festivals and celebrations would be around every corner. In the midst of all this, numerous shows and movies are going to stream on various OTT platforms. To help you create a watchlist calendar, we have recommendations from Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney plus Hotstar:


Depp Vs Heard – August 16th

A documentary series with three episodes, Depp Vs Heard shares the proceeding of the case filed by Johnny Depp against his former spouse, Amber Heard. It is directed by BAFTA nominee filmmaker Emma Cooper. The conversation and the controversy surrounding the high-profile case will be seen in this series.


Heart Of Stone – August 11th

We will see the much-awaited Hollywood debut of Alia Bhatt in this movie. She stars alongside Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan. It’s a spy-thriller with loads of action.

Guns and Gulaabs – TBA

Starring Dulquer Salmaan, Rajkumar Rao and Adarsh Gaurav, this is a comedy series by the filmmaker duo Raj Nidimori and Krishna DK. It’s set in the 1990s and is a guaranteed nostalgia trip.

The Hunt For Veerappan- August 4th

A document that takes you through the story of Veerappan. It’s a 4-episode docu-series directed by Selvamani Selvaraj. It explores key questions like Who’s Veerappan, why he came to be the man he was, why it took so long to capture him etc.


Only Murders In the Building S3 – August 8th

The third and final season of the murder-thriller-comedy franchise of Only Murders in The Building is here. It stars Selena Gomez, Steve Martin, Martin Short and this time, Meryl Streep joins the cast. If you’ve watched the first two seasons, you know what to expect, but if you haven’t, you must watch it before its next season is out.


A remake of the popular Bengali drama, Dayaa features JD Chakravarthy, Esha Reba and Remya Nambeesan. It’s a murder mystery that is sure you keep you on the edge of your seat. The story revolves around a freezer van driver who discovers a dead body inside the van and the incidents that unravel after.

Star Wars Ahsoka – August 23rd

It’s based on the events that take place after the fall of the Empire. Former Jedi Ahsoka investigates a threat that’s incoming to one galaxy. Starring Rosario Dawson, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ray Stevenson etc.


Starring Atharvaa and Manikandan, the upcoming series revolves around an IPS officer who takes on a criminal ring. Atharvaa plays the cop and Manikandan plays the gang leader. It’s a typical cat-and-mouse game that unfolds in a time frame of 30 hours.

Guardians of the Galaxy S3- Aug 2nd

The third movie from the Marvel franchise will stream on Hotstar from August 2nd. It’s a heartwarming movie that gives all characters closure and the audience a beautiful movie. It’s a must-watch for Marvel fans.


Made In Heaven S2

And the wait is finally over for all the people who are the OG fans of Made in Heaven. The series was one of the first original Indian shows to stream online. The second season has taken a while to be released but it’s packed with love, drama, thrill and romance.

Red, White and Royal Blue – Aug 11th

When the son of the American President and a British prince fall in love, a romantic comedy is what we get. Seeing an LGBTQ+ couple on screen is what we need at the moment. Based on a novel, it stars Nicholas Galitzine and Taylor Zakhar Perez in the lead.
