  1. Aavesham on Prime Video

Aavesham follows three friends, Aju, Bibi, and Shanthan, who move from Kerala to Bangalore for their engineering studies. Choosing a hostel known for its relaxed rules, their fresh start is disrupted by a clash with Kutty, a domineering senior. Humiliated, they seek revenge and enlist local gangster Ranga, played by Fahadh Faasil for help. However, Ranga’s extreme methods lead them into a complex web of college politics and unforeseen consequences.

2. Manjummel Boys on Hotstar

Manjummel Boys, starring  Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, Ganapathi S. Poduval, Lal Jr., Deepak Parambol, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Arun Kurian, Khalid Rahman, Chandu Salimkumar, Shebin Benson, and Vishnu Reghu is based on a true story that happened in 2006. The film revolves around a group of boys who decide to go on a trip to Kodaikanal where one of their friends falls into the pit. Will he survive?

3. Thalaimai Seyalagam – Zee 5

Directed by G Vasantha Bala, and starring Kishore, Sriya Reddy, Bharath, Ramya Nambeesan and Kani Kusruti, the series is a functional political thriller. The story is a political controversy that revolves around the chief minister of Tamil Nadu who is under trial for a corruption case. This brings up issues within the party, does he lose his position? If yes, who is next in line? Multiple incidents in the present and past tie the story up. 

4. Bridgerton Season 3 Part 1 – Netflix

Following the story of Penelope and Colin, the third installment in the Bridgerton series is anticipated by many. Every season before this, including the spin-off Queen Charlotte is heavy on romance, lust and emotions. This season is split into 2 parts, the first part is only 4 episodes long, the perfect binge-watch this weekend. 

5. Heeramandi on Netflix

Heeramandi, starring Sonali Sinha, Manisha Koirala, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Sharmin Segal revolves around the lives of the women of the red-light district, Heera Mandi, during the independence under the British Raj.  The series is written and directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Known for its grandeur and exceptional story telling, this is the first series written and directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

6.Idea of you – Prime Video

The Idea of You, starring Anne Hathway and Nicholas Giltzine is a story of a 40-year-old single mom and a 24-year-old band singer falling in love. They meet at a concert where their relationship blooms, with paparazzi tailing behind the singer, and with the fear of what society will say, how will they navigate their relationship?

 

7. Shaitan – Netflix

Directed by Vikas Bahl and produced by Ajay Devgn FFilms, Jio Studios, and Panorama Studios, the film features Ajay Devgn, R. Madhavan, Jyothika, Janki Bodiwala, and Anngad Raaj. Notably, it’s a remake of the 2023 Gujarati film “Vash.” The trailer portrays an illustrious picture of a family of four, troubled by the arrival of an unwelcome guest, Shaitaan played by Madhavan. Jyothiks is playing an anxiously worried mother of Janki Bodiwala, who appears to be controlled by Shaintaan and as the wife of Ajay Devgn.

8. Maxton Hall – Prime Video

Maxton Hall follows Ruby Bell, a bright scholarship student aiming for Oxford University, as she navigates the world of the ultra-wealthy at Maxton Hall. Ruby clashes with privileged students like James Beaufort. Her discovery of a secret affair between a teacher and James’ sister, Lydia, pulls her into the school’s hidden drama.

9. Dune Part 2 on Prime Video

Starring Timothee Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Zendaya, Charlotte Rampling, and Javier Bardem, it follows Paul Atreides’ journey on Arrakis as he seeks refuge among the Fremen after the betrayal of his family by the Harkonnens.  Paul grapples with visions of a future filled with war and faces difficult choices that will shape his destiny and the fate of Arrakis.
