Marakkuma Nenjam

Marakkuma Nenjam, written and directed by Raako Yoagandran is a story of unrequited love between Karthik and Priyadharshini during their schooling who meet again at a reunion. The students of the 2008 batch are forced to spend 3 months of schooling again and write their board exams in 2018 due to a court order. Karthik’s buried feelings resurface, will he finally confess his feelings or will he let go of his final chance at having his happy ending with her?

Abraham Ozler

Abraham Ozler is a gripping crime thriller that has been co-produced and directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas, and written by the Randheer Krishnan. The movie’s plot revolves around the life of veteran cop Abraham Ozler, who serves as the Assistant Commissioner of Police in Trichur. The story takes a dramatic turn when he is assigned to investigate a series of brutal murders, and the hunt for the perpetrator begins and delves deep into the personal and professional life of the protagonist, making it a must-watch for fans of the genre.

Fighter 

Fighter is easily one of the most anticipated movies of 2024, with the heartthrob combo of Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone in the lead, fighter is an all-in-one blockbuster bringing together elements of action, romance, and nationalism. Directed by Paathan fame Siddharth Anand, the story revolves around Patty, an Airforce pilot with a traumatic past, and Mini, a rookie pilot who team up to take down the terrorist group scheming against India.

Aae Watan Mere Watan

Inspired by true events, Aae Watan Mere Watan is a period drama movie set in 1942 in the colonial city of Bombay and revolves around a young girl called Usha Mehta who fights in the freedom struggle against the British in her own ways or to be more specific in her own voice. The movie is directed by Kannan Iyer and produced by Karan Johar and has a star-studded cast including Sara Ali Khan, Benedict Garrett, Alexx O’Nell, Sparsh Srivastav, Anand Tiwari, Abhay Verma, Richard Bhakti Klein, Godaan Kumar, Ashton Bessette, Priyanam Das, Ed Robinson, Manya Singh, Ankur Yadav, Garrvil Mohan.

Lootere

Directed by Jai Mehta, this action thriller is set in the international waters of Somalia, where a Ukranian cargo ship is taken hostage by a gang of pirates and Vikrant Gandhi, who tries everything in his power to prevent the ship from reaching Mogadishu. Greed seems to be the driving theme of the series. The showrunners Hansal Mehta and Shailesh R Singh created this gripping thriller and have a versatile cast including ‘Love Enough Sir‘ fame Vivek Gomber along with Deepak Tijori, Rajat Kapoor, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Amruta Khanvilkar, Avanish Pandey, Gaurav K. Sharma, Pankaj Raina, Tuks Tad Lungu.

3 Body Problem

The television series 3 Body Problem, based on Liu Cixin’s novel series of the same name, a significant decision made in China during the 1960s has a lasting impact on the present day. The plot follows a detective and a team of scientists confronting a critical existential threat to the planet. The story centers around Ye Wenjie, an astrophysicist whose decision during the 1960s profoundly spans time and space. Later on, the plot shifts to the present day, where a group of scientists join forces to confront humanity’s most significant challenge.

Argylle

Elly Conway, a talented novelist known for her gripping suspense novels, finds herself facing a series of unexpected obstacles when a group of individuals begins targeting her. What is the reason behind their actions? Elly’s stories are coming to life, and the group believes that she is a fortune teller and they need to know what will happen next. While, Aidan who knows about this, tries to save her from them.

Shirley

“Shirley (2024)” is a biographical drama film on the inspiring story of Shirley Chisholm, written and directed by John Ridley. Chisholm was a political trailblazer who was the first Black woman elected to Congress. The movie details her revolutionary 1972 run for the Democratic presidential nomination.

X Men’97

The nostalgic series marks the resurrection of the original series of   X-Men: The Animated Series (1992–1997), seamlessly continuing the legacy from where it ended, this animated series is an absolute treat for all Marvel Comic fans. Helmed by Beau DeMayo the series revolves around mighty mutants who use superpower gifts to protect the world. The original cast of the series has also got together to reprise including Cal Dodd, Lenore Zann, George Buza, Catherine Disher, Chris Potter, Alison Sealy-Smith, Adrian Hough, Christopher Britton, Alyson Court, Lawrence Bayne, and Ron Rubin.

Opphenmier

Christopher Nolan’s Opphenmier is definitely the show stealer among the OTT releases this week. The Oscar-winning masterpiece is a biographical thriller, inspired by the life of  Robert Opphenmier, the brilliant physicist who played a significant role in the development of the atomic bomb during the Second World. Nolan’s Brainchild saw huge box office world wide becoming one of second-highest grossing R-rated movie of all-time. The movie also had a stellar cast including Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, and Robert Downey Jr.
