PIC TALK: From Keerthy Suresh to Malavika Mohanan, here’s a look at how these Stars celebrated Onam!

Onam Ashamshagal!

Onam is mostly known for Poo Kolam and Sadhya. But the unsaid happiness of Onam comes with dressing up for the occasion. These days, women have increasingly started to move away from the traditional Kasavu saree for the occasion. They have adopted modern, contemporary and trendy versions of the Onam saree for their ensemble. Our very own film stars have set an example for the same. So, here’s a look at how our stars celebrated Onam and what they wore!

1) Keerthy Suresh:

Keerthy Suresh celebrated her Onam this year with the Maamannan team. She wore the traditional Kasavu with a thin-strap Red blouse. The blouse was a deep-cut back-buttoned blouse. She also wore her hair in a half-up half-down hairstyle and adorned her tresses with Malli Poo. As she celebrated the occasion with the Maamannan team, she shared photos with Udayanidhi Stalin and the entire team. There were also photos of her eating a Sadhya with the team. In the last video of the carousel, she shared a video singing a Malayalam song and wished her fans a Happy Onam!

2) Malavika Mohanan:

For a change, Malavika Mohanan let go of the traditional Kasavu and went for vibrant colors. She was as colorful as the Poo Kalam that she sat next to while posing for a photo. She wore an orange and pink combination Half-saree. The highlight was the puffed long-sleeve blouse she wore with the traditional silk half-saree. She celebrated the festival with her friends and also asked, “Also gave the quintessential Kerala ‘kasavu’ saree a miss this year and went for a colourful half saree instead for a change! Do you like ittt?” in the captions.

3) Gouri G Kishan:

Gouri Kishan stuck to the white colour of Onam but went for a designer saree instead of a traditional kasavu. She wore a heavy work turquoise sleeveless blouse to go with her printed and embroidery saree. Her earrings were also heavy to go with the saree, and avoided a neckpiece, as it would have been gaudy with the heavily-worked saree. For the first time, she also wore a nosering, which looked fresh and new on her. Of course, she completed her ensemble with the Malli Poo.

4) Aishwarya Lekshmi:

Aishwarya Lekshmi also chose a trendy saree with a noodle-strap blouse. Both the saree and the blouse had a patchwork with silver and gold glitter patches. The saree was also striped and fully white. She had a special designer jhumka that went with the ensemble. Looks like the actress had a complete photoshoot as she shared several photos taken at picturesque backgrounds.

5) Anupama Parameswaran:

Anupama Parameswaram wore a partly-pallu saree in white and cream shades this festive season. Anupama’s outfits get a special appeal because of how she styles her curly hair. This time, she put her hair in a ponytail and completely wrapped it with Malli Poo. Her blouse was striped with Golden stripes and was a V-cut sleeveless one. She also wore a traditional choker set in antique gold with pearls. The ensemble was unique and different from usual Onam outfits.

6) Megha Akash:

Megha Akash’s Onam look was refreshing to see because of her novel look in the ocean of traditional Onam looks. She wore a Pavada Chatta and looked like a Malayali Cinderella. She had a matching cream hair band to go with her outfit. Her top was more like a shirt, rather than a pavada chatta. Her skirt was pure gold with prints all over. This outfit was completely new and unique and brought out the actress’s inner child.

7) Mamta Mohandas:

Mamta Mohandas went for a Southie Lehenga look this time. She mixed the traditional lehenga with the traditional pavada chatta as she wore it with a Duppata. She chose to go subtle this time, as her ensemble was made of the traditional Kasavu with no prints. Her blouse was a high-neck one with long sleeves. She also chose to style herself with a simple necklace and big earrings.
