It was mayhem and bloodshed at Chennai’s Tambaram bus terminus on December 18 when a man killed his 77-year-old mother and injured his elder sister in front of passengers. According to The Times of India, the man killed his mother because he was removed from getting any property from her, while it went to his sister.

53-year-old Devaraj had a knife and slashed his mother to death while injuring his sister. The two ladies boarded the 166 bus at 7 PM after arriving from Chengalpet. Devaraj got into the bus, yelled at the two and brandished his knife before harming them. Before he could escape, passengers caught hold of him.

Devaraj had been seething and fuming ever since his mother made a deposition against him in the matters of the property. She decided to depose him as he had not been taking care of her well. After deposition, the old woman was heading back home only to have slashed to death by her son.
