Take on sustainability: The fashion industry has had its grey area specially in promoting fast-fashion. With the environment at its deteriorating state Eco fashion is on a raise with many designers pledging sustainability. At the recently concluded Lakmé Fashion Week , the Union Minister of Textiles, Smriti Zubin Irani, launched Project SU.RE in association with the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI); the United Nations in India; and IMG Reliance, organisers of LFW. The project brings together big brands like the Future Group, Shopper’s Stop, Aditya Birla Retail, Arvind Brands, Lifestyle, Max, Raymond, House of Anita Dongre, W, Biba, Westside, Levi’s, Bestsellers and Trends, among others to adapt a more ethical way of mass production.
