Fruit-Ful Beauty Regime!

PAPAYA!

For hair nourishment

 

Ripe papaya does not bring shine just to your face but also to your hair. In a blending jar add one cup of papaya without seed and 1 cup of curd and make a smooth paste. Apply it all over your hair from root to tip. The papaya not just adds to the lustre of your hair but along with curd also repairs split ends. Though extremely damaged hair or split ends would require trimming, this pack will prevent further splitting of hair.

 

For Glowing skin:

Papain, an enzyme that Papaya contains helps in removing dead cells and impurities present in the skin. It also helps control acne out breaks by unclogging pores and removing excess sebum from the skin, therefore making the skin less oily.  Papaya is useful to even skin tone by reducing dark spots and blemishes on the skin.

Papaya + Honey

Mix one cup of chopped papaya mashed finely with two tablespoons of honey. Apply it evenly on your face and neck. Leave it on for 20 minutes and then rinse with cold water. This simple face pack will leave your kin glowing instantly.

For people with oily, acne-prone skin to prevent breakouts on your face try the cleansing mask. To the same mixture you can add one spoon of lemon juice and a spoon of fuller’s earth ie multani mitti to form a paste.

BANANA! 

For Hair:

Banana promotes hair growth and keeps hair from drying out and breaking off. Containing a protein that improves hair texture, prevent and control dandruff as well as moisturise scalp. Bananas are rich in potassium plus the vitamins, carbohydrates and natural oils in the fruit help the hair’s natural elasticity. The bonus point of this ingredient is that you can leave it on for however long you want!

  1. Puree 2 ripe bananas in the mixer. Add 3 tbsp mayonnaise, 3 drops of lavendar essential oil and 1 tbsp olive oil. Apply and leave on hair for 30 mins. Wash hair with lukewarm water. Bonus point: You can store this mask in the fridge for later.
  2. Mash with fork 1 ripe banana and add 8 drops of pure almond oil. Massage onto hair and leave on for 25 minutes. Afterwards rinse off with apple cider vinegar or flat beer.
  3. This mask is almost tempting to eat! Combine one banana with 3 tsp cocoa powder and 4-5 tbsp whole milk. Spread on top of hair avoiding much of scalp. Leave for half hour and wash off with just water.

 

For Skin:

 

Banana is great for keeping the skin hydrated and smooth; due to the presnsce of the enzyme silica in it. Banana peel also has several beneifts; from reducing acne scars, brighten skin, reducing wrinkles etc. placing a banana peel on closed eyes reduce puffiness.

You can apply the fruit just as it is by mashing it to form a paste. Apply the pasted evenly to your face and skin and let it set for 10-15 minutes before you rinse it off. You can add ¼ cup of curd, 2 tablespoon honey to a medium sized smashed banana for a natural more moisturized skin. This pack is also great for reducing skin blemishes.

STRAWBERRIES!

For skin:

Strawberries are extensively used in skincare and beauty products due to their aromatic smell and hydrant nature. From silky strawberry lip balms to strawberry moisturisers, strawberries find their place in your beauty kit. In salons and spas, strawberries are extensively used for beauty treatments like body polishing , toning, cleansing and facials. In fact, moisturizers and cleaners that contain strawberries are always up for grabs because they make your skin supple and give that lustre you have always wanted. Their beauty benefits can be attributed to the fact that they exfoliate your skin and condition it, leaving behind a delicate fragrance.

STRAWBERRY FACIAL MASK

8 to 9 strawberries
2 tablespoons honey

Mash strawberries. Add honey and mix well. Spread over face. Leave on for 25-30 minutes and rinse with cool water.

Note: This mask may be irritating for those with sensitive or sunburned skin.

 

For Hair:

Overly ripe strawberries too might not be good for your smoothies but they are an extremely good antioxidant for your hair. One egg yolk blended well with ripe strawberries and olive oil make for an excellent conditioning and detox for your hair. The mixture should be well blended to get a smooth consistency and applied all over your hair for 20 minutes. Wash it off, followed by shampooing and conditioning if you like.

 

COCONUT!

For Hair:

A blessing for all hair types, coconut oil is one of the most effective conditioner for damaged hair. It encourages hair re-growth and prevents the loss of proteins from hair. Getting deep into the follicles, coconut oil moisturizes the hair, adding lustre to it, leaving a shine that lasts a very long time. The best way to apply coconut hair and masks with ingredients is to apply on top of the hair and comb it across so that it reaches the scalp and thoroughly touches the follicles. Leave it overnight and wash with shampoo the next day. It is also strongly recommended that using warm oil is better for penetrating the scalp then cold as coconut oil tends to cream when in room temperature.

For Skin;

Coconut is a treasure-trove of vitamins and minerals; it also has the ability to moisturise your skin and keep it soft, supple and radiantly young. Grate raw coconut and squeeze the milk out of it. Apply this coconut milk onto your face; stay for about 20 minutes and then rinse it out with warm water.
