Here’s Why Priya Varrier’s Liplock Scene Should Be a Big Controversy!

What is the issue?

As we were going through our daily dose of celebrity content, I came across something which looked absolutely normal – a kiss between two teenagers in a movie. Priya Prakash Varrier and her co-star Roshan Abdul Rahoof playing young teenagers in love in their Malayalam film ‘Oru Adaar Love’, their characters can be seen sharing a moment. Meanwhile, the internet goes berserk.

Why you may ask? A kiss ends up being the biggest disappointment to them and several netizens feel it ought to be the biggest taboo.

But, behold – they are right. A kiss is the greatest mistake of all times, especially a teenager kissing another out of consent. Because kiss has an age limit which I’m guessing starts from the age of 21 or maybe only after the wedding? Oh, but non-consensual sex after marriage is totally fine because YOU ARE MARRIED! Even if your husband forces himself on you, it’s fine. But, sharing your first kiss with your first love with full commitment isn’t.

So, yeah! That is why this “Haw, liplock scene in a school” is a criminal offence.

Here’s the video of the clip:

Yes, it is a school love story and oh my God, how dare they!

Here’s an array of our judges discussing the same:

There was, however, this judge’s comment that said, “It’s okay to have a liplock but it should cater to the context.”

We completely agree with these judges – this KISS is worthy of controversy but rapes, the country going downtown, the multiple criminal offences happening on a daily basis and global warming aren’t as newsworthy enough in comparison. Finally, to all those worried about the team messing with the minds of young school kids – a kiss has been given to loved ones for centuries before this very movie portrayed. So maybe let’s restrategise on what our priorities ought to lie instead of making a mountain out of a molehill that shouldn’t even exist in the first place.
