Fashionably Powerful: How Nayanthara Emerged As A Style Icon!

From the girl next door in Ayya to her boss lady look in Imaikkaa Nodigal, read on as we decode Nayanthara’s insane style evolution through the years.

Having made her debut opposite Sarath Kumar, Nayanthara’s role in Ayya was that of a small town girl. Staying true to her on-screen role, the actor managed to carry the same persona off-screen as well which led most people to see her for a homely girl next door. Portraying an array of such characters she donned a similar look with movies like Chandramukki through her next few films.

There was major transformation in her look for the movie Ghajini. Playing the role of a college student she ditched the long locks and went for a rather glammed up look with a visibly  overdrawn lip and bold eyes as opposed to her previous characters.

Although Ghajini was a welcome change both in terms of character and style, her major breakthrough was with Billa. With her bikini-clad look Nayanthara managed to turn up the heat like never before. Through and through this movie was lauded for its style quotient and her character Sasha was no different, let it be the dramatic sunglasses or the body-con dresses this character set her apart from her contemporaries.

Over the next few years, her style constantly evolved with the range of characters she played. And off-screen she went on to become a more prominent style personality.

For her red carpet looks in the recent times, she’s been rocking sarees. It is safe to say that there’s a separate fanbase for her saree looks, pairing it with heavily embroidered blouses or oxidised statement pieces, she always manages to give her looks a fresh twist. And a movie that we feel portrayed her in her natural element was Viswasam, right form the linen sarees to the high neck blouses, her wardrobe in this movie was to die for.

Let it be her on-screen looks or off-screen, the transformation this actor has had is perhaps one of the best.
