This week’s fashion report card features Samantha Akkineni, who, day after day, impressed fashionistas and enthusiasts with her right wardrobe choices, jewellery and make-up. While there were other starlets who slayed their fashion game, the week clearly belonged to Sam and the numerous events and functions she attended, dressed in her fashionable best.
It’s evident that over the years, Sam’s fashion sense has gotten more subtle, more classy, and definitely something that not only suits her but looks comfortable enough too. Call it casual, call it keeping it real, or simply call it good fashion choices that made us go ‘yay!’ the whole time.
Samantha Akkineni sported a melange of Indian and western wear this week. She began with this fiery red Raw Mango silk kurta and grey pants that she teamed up with a classy choker from Harini Fine Jewellery and hair and make-up that was left simple and plain. Mad props to the shoes too that totally amps up her fashion quotient.
For the 100 days celebration of her film Irumbu Thirai, Samantha chose to wear a classy silk saree and crop-top blouse by Mumbai’s favourite Payal Khandwala. Her jewellery was, much like her saree, out of the ordinary and quirky enough to blend well with her outfit. We’re just glad she kept it classy with her straight, loose hair.
For another event where she bought vegetables, Samantha was glowing in her underplayed yet classy cotton saree from Kanelle in New Delhi and teamed it up with a blouse from Bhang, a Chennai-based store. She didn’t go overboard with the make-up or the jewellery and rocked this classy ensemble despite the sultry heat in the city.
If the Indian traditionals were a bit much, Samantha compensated with classy and casual western outfits. For the promotional event of her upcoming film U-Turn, Sam turned up in loose, creamed coloured pants and a grey t-shirt with an olive green bomber jacket on top. Too plain? Check out those giant gold-ringed earrings and think again! Her hairstyle, too, is far from boring and revs up her fashion quotient here.
At yet another event for her upcoming film, Sam chose denim – jacket, pants, and denim-themed shoes. Usually, this would count as an overdose, but with the mild difference in the denim shades and her wavy locks and nude make-up transforms it into a look that every girl would love to try out. The real highlight though? Her Rene Caovilla shoes!
And on Friday, an evening event, Sam chose black that she ensured was in different shades right from her head to toe. An Antar-Agni outfit, Sam gives off gothic, dark vibes almost in tune with her character from her upcoming film. With a nose ring and hair tied up with a few loose strands on the sides, Sam is far from looking like an ordinary girl here.
