Empowering Performances: Aishwarya Rajesh, Meetha Raghunath and Bhavani Sre win Best Actress at the JFW Movie Awards 2024!

The grand 6th edition of Twin Birds JFW Movie Awards took place on 16th March 2024 at Chennai Trade Centre. It was an evening filled with unforgettable moments and immense talent. The atmosphere was empowering, the mood was celebratory and the speeches were heartfelt at the event. The night saw a gamut of Kollywood stars grace the occasion with their presence, each one making the night one to remember. The one-of-a-kind night was hosted by our favourite, RJ Vijay and Archana Chandoke, who were huge catalysts in making the event a successful one.

The JFW Movie Awards 2024 was a star-studded event that featured an incredible lineup of actors, directors and singers from the Tamil film industry. The title sponsor of the event were Twin Birds, powered by V Care Clinic and Jos Alukkas with colour partner Indicus Paints and Perfect Partner Prithvi Innerwear, co-presented by Chik Shampoo with Associate Sponsors Sparrow Tiles, Cookr India, and Finesse Mattress.

BEST COSTUME DESIGNER

Poornima Ramaswamy won the award for Best Costume Designer for the movie Irugapatru where she worked on the costumes for Shraddha Srinath and Vikram Prabhu. The award was presented to her by Vaibhav.

 

BEST DIRECTOR OF A WOMAN-LED FILM

Yashwanth Kishore won the award for Best Director in a woman-led film for the movie Kannagi. He was presented with the award by director Mohan Raja.

BEST ACTRESS IN AN OTT SERIES


Abi Nakshatra from the series Ayali won the award for Best Actress in an OTT Series at the JFW Movie Awards 2024. The award was presented to her by Mithran.

BEST DUBBING ARTIST


Chinmayi won the award for Best Dubbing Artist for her work in the movie Leo dubbing for the lead actress, Trisha. The award was presented to her by Khatija Rahman.

 

BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS


Abarnathi won the award for Best Supporting Actress for her fabulous performance in the movie Irugapatru. The award was presented to her by Vinay Rai,  and Sureshkant from Finesse Mattress. Vinay Rai and Abarnathi set the stage on fire when they danced to his popular song from the movie Unnale Unnale.

BEST CHILD ARTIST


Sahasra Sree from the movie Chithha won the award for Best Child Artist for her exceptional work in the film. The award was presented to her by the director of the film Arun Kumar.

BEST ACTRESS IN A COMIC ROLE


Deepa Shankar won the award for Best Actress in a Comic Role for her work in the film Sopanna Sundari. She set the stage on fire when she danced her heart out, proving that she truly is the most sporty. The award was presented to her by Abhirami.

BEST SINGER


Shakthisree Gopalan won the award for Best Singer for the song Aga Naga from Ponniyin Selvan 2. The award was presented to her by Abhirami, Unnikrishnan and Praba, CEO and Co-Founder of Cookr India.

 

BEST SINGER- CRITIC


Karthika Vaidyanathan won the award for Best Singer Critic for her melodious voice in the song Kangal Edho from the movie Chithha. The award was presented to her by Srinivas.

BEST DEBUTANTE


Nimisha Sajayan won the award for Best Debutante for her role in the film Chithha. The award was presented to her by veteran actress Ambika.

 

WOMAN DIRECTOR OF THE YEAR


Brinda Gopal won the award for Woman Director of the Year for her film Thugs. She was presented with the award by Shobana.

BEST ACTRESS IN A LEAD ROLE

Meetha Raghunath was awarded Best Actress in a lead role for her brilliant work in the movie Goodnight. The award was presented to her by Arun Vijay, Ramanathan, Group Brand Manager and Misha, Media Head Of Cavinkare Group.

BEST ACTRESS IN A WOMAN-LED FILM


Aishwarya Rajesh won the award for Best Actress in a woman-led film for her exceptional portrayal of Farhana in the movie Farhana. The award was presented to her by Poornima Bhagyaraj, Paul Alukka and John Alukka, Managing Director of Jos Alukkas.

BEST ACTRESS IN A LEAD ROLE – CRITIC


Bhavani Sre was awarded Best Actress in a Lead Role- critic for her role in the movie Viduthalai. The award was presented to her by none other than the director of the movie, Vetrimaran, and a special surprise by her brother and ace music director and actor GV Prakash.

MAN OF THE YEAR – SIDDHARTH


Truly owning the stage with his words, Sidhharth won Man of the Year at the JFW Movie Awards 2024. His movie Chithha started an important conversation around child sexual abuse which he spoke about on the stage. His speech was emotional, real and impactful as he talked about how movies have the power to influence and one should be careful about the kind of content that goes out. The award was presented to him by Suhasini Maniratnam.

MAN OF THE YEAR – NELSON DILIPKUMAR


Nelson Dilipkumar won the Man of the Year Award at the JFW Movie Awards 2024. His movies such as Doctor, Beast, Kolaamavu Kokila and Jailer have truly been game changers for the Tamil film industry. The award was presented to him by the director of Manjummel Boys, Chidambaram.
