Deepika Padukone has surpassed most celebrities when it comes to fashion. Not only does she go beyond her comfort zone and takes risks, but she also nails it each time she brings a burst a colour without apologising. While she rocked red colour with grace on all of her wedding celebrations, it isn’t the first time she’s pulling off the colour neither will it be the last time.

Most celebrities at the much-celebrated Isha Ambani pre-wedding bash turned up in various shades of cream, gold, silver, black and purple, Deepika continued with the theme of red, something she had been keeping up since her wedding festivities on November 15.

Dressed in a gorgeous Faabiiana sari, Deepika looked like she was paying tribute to the bygone vintage era of Bollywood where starlets dazzled fans and foes in a crimson red simple saree, a halter neck blouse, poofed hair and a string of pearls for the tinge of glam and grace. The best part about her look was the golden drops and necklace with the red bangles that made her stand out – a simple look but still standing out amidst the madding crowd.

 

Interestingly, merely a day before heading to Udaipur for the pre-wedding festivities, Deepika wore red again in the form of a red cardigan and skirt. Both were of different shades, of course, but added more red to her look including a bright red lipstick and shoes.

But the past one month, she sported various shades of red that it’s hard to keep up. For her final wedding reception, wherein Bollywood celebrities flocked in their most regal outfits, Deepika wore a red Zuhair Murad gown with a long train – giving us vibes of a bride who doesn’t adhere to convention and brings her own tinge of rebel in her look. Needless to say, that gown of hers won the internet and satiated every fashion lovers’ appetite.

As for her wedding, she wore a gorgeous embellished Sabyasachi outfit with golden and all things pearls all over. Looking like the bride of your dreams, Deepika wore a typical shade of red for her wedding but with her own twist.

For a party post her wedding, she wore red splotched all over her Sabyasachi lehenga with a twist. With florals all over, she was the kind of fashion diva you’d never thought you knew.

To the Met Gala this year, she wore a massive red Prabal Gurung gown that made her the cynosure of all eyes.

To the IFFA Awards in 2016, she wore another red outfit slaying it the way Angelina Jolie did when she stuck her svelte leg out in through the slit of her dress.

With red, she’s teamed it up the Indo-Western way too with great results!

And when she has to keep it casual with her red, she does it with elan too. And now we’re convinced, red is the new black and DP’s favourite!
