Celebrity’s Guide To Summer Style!

Simple ways to look your best during the summer

By: Harshitha Kumaran
South Indian summers are known for their relentless reigns, but don’t let that bring you down. Bust out those bright colors and breathable cottons because girls just want to have sun!

Bid Farewell to the Florals

While florals have dominated the season of the sun, don’t be afraid to flirt with new patterns like stripes, polka dots, aztec and even animal prints that will have you looking chic and stylish.
Pair an animal print shirt with white cotton, chambray or even linen pants for those laid back days where you just want to unwind with a magazine and a margarita.

A polka dot dress is timeless, you can go from brunch to ballroom with the right accessories, making it a wardrobe must-have. Flowy and fun are the vibes this summer, so grab those skirts – and don’t hold back with the patterns. Pair a funky patterned skirt with a white shirt and shades for the perfect summer soiree outfit.

Take inspiration from our very own superstar,Samantha Akkineni and pair your dresses and jumpsuits with a funky belt.

Match your Metals

While mixing and matching can be fun, it’s imperative to avoid a fashion faux-pas by wearing mismatched metals. Stick to one metallic shade and carry it through your outfit – bags and shades are always an added bonus, to ensure that your look is clean, classy and fun.

Fashionista, Trisha Krishnan shows us how to match our metals.

Make a Statement

White shirts and linens are going to be your best friend as the sun is mercilessly shining down upon you. Big chunky neck pieces in bright colors, funky earrings or even oversized sunglasses are sure to make heads turn. Complete the look with some mom jeans and some solid coloured flat slippers. This is a look that ensures fashion AND function!

Deepika Padukone shows us how to make a statement with some exaggerated sleeves.

Venture into The Spectrum

Summer isn’t just for oranges and yellows. Pick other unconventional colours and tones in your wardrobe that are made of breathable and light fabrics even if it’s black or grey! A lilac top with a denim or white skirt would be a breath of fresh air in the seas of citrusy colours. Mix and match the colours of your outfits, an aqua coloured dress with a yellow cardigan or shirt thrown as an overcoat, a mint top with a pink skirt, go crazy, the sky’s the limit.

When in Distress – Choose Denim

A staple in every closet. Denims are always in and are compatible with every outfit and occasion. Pair your favorite jeans or shorts with a T-shirt or top and add a cross body along with sandals and your easy summer outfit is ready.

Palazzo Party

This summer, wide legged pants are the need of the hour. Breezy and easy to style, choose from denim, cotton, linen and various other fabrics. Throw on a plain tank top with wide legged pants and add some sneakers to the mix, your perfect weekend look is ready.

Rakul Preet Singh keeps it cool with co-ords.

Don’t forget the Hair, Honey!

It’s easy to get carried away with your outfits and forget about our hair. Throw on hair accessories like chunky hair bands, coloured scrunchies or even a hat. A simple side braid, messy ponytail, messy bun will keep you feeling cool, calm and collected while looking absolutely stunning.
Keerthy Suresh adds a fun scrunchy to make her simple hairstyle look fun.

Don’t forget to keep it light breezy and easy, wear breathable fabrics and experiment as much as you can. The sun doesn’t need to be the only one shining so bright!
