Over the years, India has risen in terms of fashion especially when you take into account the increase in indigenous designers and stylists making a name for themselves internationally too. Right from the right cut in the dress to the right accessories and shoes picked out fine, these following celebrities brought their A-game throughout the year. Great stylists or great fashion choices, these South Indian celebs are no less in comparison to international stars who make heads turn and give fashion enthusiasts a run for their money!

Samantha Akkineni

If one had to declare a winner for their fashion game down south, then look no further. Samantha Akkineni has set goals with every shirt, dress or belt she wore, meticulously focusing on  every detail including hair and make-up. Overall, we fell in love with all of her fashion choices this year and she kept updating fans and followers with more each week. From someone who was once slammed by the media for her fashion sense, Samantha has proved haters wrong. She sure is a force to reckon with and fashion is something that you simply can’t think of without her here.

Rakul Preet Singh

She’s tall, slender and has the perfect figure for a model. It’s no surprise that she won beauty pageants and is roped in movie after movie for her screen presence. Rakul this year went beyond her comfort zone and wore outfits that not just brought out the best in her but were innovative and quite in tune with what’s trending. She kept her hair and make-up minimal but if need be, she went ahead and experimented too.

Keerthy Suresh

With the success of Mahanati, Keerthy Suresh’s world turned around. She was no longer the heroine that simply worked as a love interest for the hero. She was now an actress for whom the content and the character mattered, and this reflected on her personality this year, rising as someone distant but not cold, yet approachable and wise beyond her years. Fashion wise, it was Keerthy’s best year. Her outfits were extra but her attitude was far more fiery. She wore innumerable sarees, lehengas and ethnic dresses and taught all fashionistas a thing or two about experimenting with Indian wear. She has maintained a style quotient that never failed the fashion police and week after week, her outfits kept getting better. Clearly, we’ve found our next fashion icon!

Andrea Jeremiah

Andrea has often come across as the cool girl who would wear casual outfits and still rock it like a boss. This year, with the release of two of her films, Andrea went on a lot of promotional events and wore outfits that weren’t exactly casual but were pretty impressive. Right from her sarees to the occasional crop top and palazzos, Andrea experimented here and there. She still kept it no-frills with minimal make-up and hairdo keeping her company. Most of the time, it was her radiant skin that worked wonders.

Amala Paul

Amala Paul, just like her wanderlust-hippie nature, has an effervescent fashion style. She wears a simple cotton dress but makes it look like the most stylish dress for summer. Similarly, her accessories are no-frills and often different, contrasting the outfit, yet it complements each other in so many ways. She likes to be different and sure stands out with her style. And her smoky eyes are always must. Clearly she’s into comfort before style, but still manages to make it more about the style ever so often.
