Amala Paul: I Was Too Young To Get Married!

The dream catcher gets candid!

Amala started working in the movies as a teenager who had no godfather but herself. She shocked many when she announced that she was tying a knot with her ‘Deiva Thirumagal’ Director A.L. Vijay in 2014 while she was still in her early twenties. Though the talented star did not go off screen, she wasn’t signing as many movies post the wedding. The couple hit headlines again as they decided to get separated and were finally granted the divorce in February 2017.

The actress spoke out in a candid chat about what could have gone wrong with her marriage. She said,”Now when I look back, I realize that I was too young to get married and I should have known myself better. I had a lot of passion and fire in me to do a lot of things. I can’t say a lot about it at the moment, however, I can speak for myself and I don’t believe in right or wrong. I just believe that there are different phases, situations, and circumstances that people go through. Our marriage was great initially and the age difference complemented our relationship. Soon we realized it wasn’t working out. So we moved away consciously.”

“Women evolve in the way they think in their early twenties and I realized I was at an age where I wanted to do a lot of things in life. I chose to do lesser movies and that was a conscious decision. However, I soon knew that I had gotten married quite early and maybe if I was around 30-years-old, my marriage would have worked out better. A lot of things change and blessed are people who are able to find that balance in a relationship at any point in time,” she added.
