Movies Releasing In Theatres This Week!

What are you watching this week?

It’s the Tamil New Year, Vishu weekend, it’s the time for some new releases in the theatres. While there are not a lot of big-blockbuster films releasing this weekend, the movies listed here are more substance. Get ready to unwind and indulge in some entertainment! Here is a list of movies that are coming in theatres this weekend, take a pick: 

DeAr

DeAr, starring G. V. Prakash, Aishwarya Rajesh, Rohini, and Kaali Venkat is a romantic drama that revolves around the challenges the newlywed faces when the husband is a light sleeper and the wife has a snoring problem. Written and directed by Anand Ravichandran, “DeAr” is about how the couple finds a middle ground and moves forward with their relationship. 

 

Romeo

Romeo, written and directed by Vinayak Vaithianathan is a romantic comedy that revolves around the arranged marriage of a couple wherein the bride gets married because she’s forced to and she makes it clear to the groom. The groom agrees to it and tries to win her heart over after their marriage. Romeo, starring Vijay Antony, Mirnalini Ravi, Yogi Babu and VTV Ganesh. 

 

Marivillin Gopurangal

Marivillin Gopurangal directed by Arun Bose is a Malayalam drama that revolves around the polarities of two couples where one of them is married and doesn’t plan on having kids yet and the other is having kids but doesn’t plan on getting married yet. The movie starring, Indrajith Sukumaran, Vincy Aloshious, and Sarjano Khalid showcases the challenges faced by these two couples in society.

 

Aavesham

Directed by the Romancham fame, Jithu Madhavan, Aavesham is one of the most anticipated movies to be releasing this week. The movie has Fahadh Faasil in the lead role and Ashish Vidyarthi, Sajin Gopu, and Mansoor Ali Khan in the supporting roles. The story revolves around 3 college kids who get into a feud with their seniors and the three seek the help from the local gangster, Ranga to get back at them. The rest of the movie holds a sequence of events that are result of the boys meeting Ranga. 

 

Varshangalkku Shesham

Directed by Vineeth Srinivasan, Varshangaluku Shesham is a period drama revolving around two friends Murali and Venu, who arrive at Kodambakkam, the epicenter of filmmaking in 1970’s, with hopes and dreams of making it in the big dream. The movie has Pranav Mohanlal, Dhyan Sreenivasan, and Kalyani Priyadarshan in the main roles along with  Basil Joseph Aju Varghese, Neeraj Madhav, and Shaan Rahman in supporting roles. Actor Nivin Pauly will also be making an extended cameo in the movie.

 

Jai Ganesh

Directed by Ranjith Sankar, Jai Ganesh revolves around Ganesh Gangadharan, a paraplegic young man who is a graphic designer by day and a part-time detective by night. Ganesh is also the creator of a superhero Comic called “ Jai Ganesh” which is a reflection of his desire to lead a normal life oblivious to the golden egg he has been sitting on himself. The movie has Unni Mukundan and Mahima Nambiar in the lead roles and  Ravindra Vijay, Jomol, Hareesh Peradi, Ashokan, and Nandhu in supporting roles.
