If one talks about fashion and style, it’s impossible that our actress’s looks don’t crop up in that conversation. Today, movies inspired clothing market is so huge and popular that designers come up with replicas of famous costumes within days of the movie’s release. While these trends change with the change in the movies, but these costumes remain memorable and have sparked off lasting fashion trends.

Okay, here goes the list of most iconic Indian actress looks and how they stole the show.

1. Jaanu from 96

Trisha in her Kollywood release 96, plays Jaanu aka Janaki Devi, and is seen wearing a simple yellow kurta, light blue jeans and a blue silk stole. Simple yet classy, this has become a look that everybody on social media has been raving about. In fact, clothing showrooms in the city have already started selling the ‘Jaanu’ look!



2. Kushboo in Reality Shows

Kushboo has never failed to impress her fans with her fashion trends be it in movies or shows. She was the host of many reality shows and known for her outfits and had a huge fan following especially for her style and trend. It is said that she had over 2000 blouses with different designs.



3. Deepika in Piku

Deepika has maintained a different avatar and style in all her films so far and has shown that she can carry off the traditional as well as the modern look with ease. She teams up a traditional fabric kurta with palazzo pants in Piku. Her accessories carried off casually complete the look. The bold black and white kurta with the remarkable red outline and palazzo is definitely one kurta style we love ever since Piku.



4. Rambha from Ulathai Allitha

Remember the song ‘Azhagiya Laila’ from Ullathai Allitha? It’s the song in which Rambha, stands over a metal grill, with the fan placed, lifting her red dress to conjure the image of Marilyn Monroe. The yesteryear star slew her modern look and many copied her fashion statement and her style fetched wide audience.



5. Nadhiya from Poove Poochooda Vaa

Nadhiya is known for her role as Sundari in Poove Poochooda Vaa. The outfit and style she carried out throughout the movie brought in a lot of appreciation. The salwar suit with bindi and a bun was a big hit and many replicated her style. Her fashion trends are still bewitching.



6. Jessie from VTV

Trisha’s role as Jessie in Vinaithaandi Varuvaaya was something that people couldn’t easily forget. The sarees she wears in the movie was the talk of the town especially the maroon and lime green saree went on to be a top seller in most apparel stores.



7. Chandini from Main Hoo Na

Sushmita played the role of Chandni, a Chemistry teacher, in the movie and is always seen in chiffon flowy sarees and halter neck and sleeveless blouses. Her black and red polka dotted sari became a rage and had the entire women folk following her fashion statement.

Nayanthara followed up with a similar fashion trend in her film Boss Engira Baskaran, in a role rather similar to Sen’s.
