Rio Olympics medalists got a well deserved welcome back from Sachin Tendulkar, who presented the three champions and the coach BMW cars. The ceremony took place at the Badminton Academy in Hyderabad and the luxury cars were provided by the Academy for their outstanding achievement.

P.V Sindhu, Sakshi Malik and Dipa Karmakar and coach Pullela Gopichand received BMW cars at a felicitation gathering at Hyderabad. The power squad who made the nation proud, along with badminton coach shared some memorable moments with legend Sachin Tendulkar who went out of his way to make the champions feel at home.

 

 

Sachin Tendulkar, the goodwill ambassador of Indian contingent at Rio Olympics, was invited by Chamundeshwarnath to guide the ceremony. Sindhu made us proud by winning the silver medal in women’s singles, while Sakshi had bagged the bronze in women’s freestyle wrestling and Dipa missed a medal finishing fourth in the finals!

Addressing the audience Gopichand said, “It is not ‘save the girl child’ but ‘saved by the girl child,'” referring to India’s pride being saved by the three girls in Rio.
