Yes! India won against Australia in the cricket test series and yes we’re all extremely happy about it. There are have recently been numerous debates about the media coverage of cricket being more than any other and there is nothing to disagree about it. However, let’s not forget that there is something called women’s cricket too and let’s also not forget that the women’s ice hockey team just scored a humungous victory in history. Let’s also not forget that this is the very first win. Isn’t it something worth prioritising over cricket?

The very talented women’s Indian hockey team just grabbed its first trophy in the 2017 IIHF Challenge cup of Asia which took place in Thailand. This group consisting 20 women parred every obstacle to achieve what they have today. If you ask why this needs attention? Because, their journey was rough and their success requires your attention.

It did not stop with that. The match by itself was a great struggle for them. Unlike our other sports, it took the Ice Hockey team quite sometime to represent our country on an International level. They first represented internationally in the year 2016 at China. However, it wasn’t the case this time. Chanting the slogan ‘Bharath Mata ki Jai’, they won the game against Philippines with 4-3. Nothing mattered, not even the results, that inspiration and that passion impressed us much more than anything else.
