Pictures of the crash and the broken vehicles have been doing the rounds too, along with a video which the police had recorded. The case has since been handed over to the Adyar Traffic Police, with Vikram’s son being booked under Section 279 and 337 of the IPC, pertaining to rash driving and injuring/hurting an individual. According to reports, he has been granted bail.
Contrary to rumours, Dhruv was not driving under the influence and was in the car with two other people. Here’s a statement released by Vikram’s manager:
“While returning from a friend’s house on early Sunday morning, Dhruv’s car crashed into autorickshaws. One person was injured in the accident and he was immediately rushed to the hospital. He was treated for his injuries and later discharged. We would like to clarify that the accident happened only due to lack of attention behind the wheels and no other reason.”
Meanwhile, here’s a video of his friends arguing with the police after the crash.
