Veteran actress, classical dancer, singer, choreographer and parliamentarian – Vyjayanthimala, was presented the Lifetime Achievement Award 2019 for her unmatched legacy in the worlds of art, cultural heritage, social welfare and many other realms. The award was presented by none other than Dr Padma Bhushan Kamal Haasan. It was a legendary moment to watch them share a stage and exchange conversations as they looked backed in times. “I’m very happy Kamal, to receive this award from you and I’m proud of you. You’ll reach great heights” , said Dr. Vyjayanthimala on the occasion.
“We unfortunately never got to work together in films. Today I’m honoured to share the stage with you. However, I regret that my parents are not here to witness it”, said Kamal Haasan while presenting the award.

The 11th edition of the VBJ JFW Awards 2019 took place on Saturday, August 31st, and was a night that had women from all walks of life honored and appreciated for going beyond the conventions that society has set for them.
