5 Best Easy to Make Bread Recipes: Pops, Lasagna, Shahi Tukda and More!

Bread – That one thing can be repurposed into a nice breakfast, delicious lunch, yummy snack or even for dinner that is sure to satisfy…!!

**Using wheat bread for these recipes is always a healthier option.

 

  1. Chocolate French Toast:

A delicious twist to classic French toast. When you can have this ultimate dessert for breakfast or brunch why wait…!!

 

Ingredients:

Bread slices – 4 bread slices

Banana – 1 medium size sliced

Nutella or any Chocolate Spread – as needed

Egg – 1 egg

Milk – ¼ cup

Vanilla essence – 1 tsp

Butter – 1 tsp

Cinnamon Powder – a pinch

 

Directions:

  1. Beat together egg, milk and vanilla essence with cinnamon powder.
  2. Take a slice of bread. Spread some Nutella on it. Place bananas above it.
  3. Cover it with another bread slice.
  4. Dip both sides of sandwiched bread in egg mixture.
  5. Heat a lightly buttered pan, Toast the bread both sides.
  6. Serve with seasoned fruits or maple syrup or honey.

 

  1. Bread Pops:

Most of us know cake pops. Form of crumbled cake styled as a lollipop.

Have you heard about this bread pops?

This is one out of the box dessert for all your sweet-tooth cravings that looks and taste exactly as cake pops.  Just with bread, NO BAKING..!!

 

Ingredients:

Bread slices – 5-6

Nutella or any chocolate spread – 5 tbsp

Chocolate Block – ¼ cup chopped into pieces

Fresh Cream – ¼ cup

Butter – 2 tsp

 

Directions:

  1. Cut bread slices into pieces. Blend it in a blender into powder.
  2. Add 1 tsp melted butter and Nutella to the crumbled bread.
  3. Mix it and knead it with hands to a consistency where it could be shaped into balls.
  4. Shape the bread mix into perfect round smooth balls.
  5. Making chocolate ganache: Take chopped chocolate in a pan, add fresh cream, 1 tsp butter. Add in some powdered sugar if you are using dark chocolate.
  6. Heat it on low flame till chocolate melts with the cream and gets a creamy consistency. (You can even use a microwave or use a double boiler method)
  7. Chocolate ganache ready and let it cool down. Now lets dunk.
  8. To ensure the bread balls stay secure on the lollipop stick, dip it slightly into the ganache first. Then stick it into the center of bread balls.
  9. Dip the bread balls in chocolate ganache until it is fully covered. Make sure the coating covers the base of the bread ball where it meets the lollipop stick.
  10. Tap the stick gently, to allow excess coating to drop off.
  11. Decorate with sprinkles.
  12. Place the sticks upright on a Styrofoam or Thermocol block.
  13. Place in fridge for 30 mins.

 

  1. Bread Scramble:

In a hurry? Here’s a great breakfast or a tasty evening snack in one pan in just 10 mins. Anything will get attractive when breads and eggs are mixed together with our wonderful Indian spices, making it a real meal in one.

 

Ingredients:

Bread – 5-6 slices

Onions – 1 medium sized finely chopped

Tomato sauce – 1 tsp (This can be replaced with chopped tomatoes)

Vegetables of own choice (Capsicum, corn and grated carrot are good options)

Green chilies – 1 finely chopped

Ginger garlic paste – ½ tsp

Chilly powder – ½ tsp

Lemon juice – 2-3 drops

Eggs – 2

Red chili flakes – 1 tsp

Coriander leaves – finely chopped

Pepper – as needed

Salt – as needed

Butter – 1 tsp

 

Directions:

  1. Trim the corners of the bread. Cut into pieces.
  2. Crack eggs in a bowl. Beat it with chilly powder, red chili flakes, salt and pepper.
  3. Add onions, green chilies, ginger garlic paste, tomato sauce and vegetables to egg.
  4. Mix the bread pieces with the egg and vegetables.
  5. Heat butter on a pan. Sauté the bread mix for 3-4 mins.
  6. Add lemon juice and garnish with coriander leaves.
  7. Serve this perfect snack with a cup of hot tea.

 

  1. Shahi Tukda:

Shahi tukda is the most easy, yet exotic serve for your guests. My favorite dessert all time. You cannot resist with just one piece of this royal and rich delicacy.

Ingredients:

Bread Slices

Sugar – 1 cup

Water – as needed

Nuts – chopped as needed

Ghee – for frying

 

For Rabri:

Milk – 1 litre

Sugar – ½ cup

Cardamom powder – ¼ tsp

Saffron – 4 strands

Condensed milk – 4 tsp (optional)

 

Directions:

  1. Heat ghee in a pan. Roast the chopped nuts.
  2. Lets make rabri. Heat milk in a pan.
  3. When it comes to boil, add sugar. Mix it well to avoid lumps.
  4. Add the roasted nuts, saffron, cardamom powder and condensed milk.
  5. Stir it well on low flame till it gets thick and reduced to half. Scrap the corners. Rabri ready.
  6. Take your bread slices, trim the corners. Cut into desired shapes.
  7. Heat ghee in a pan. Shallow fry the bread pieces till golden brown. Drain it and keep aside.
  8. Make sugar syrup by boiling sugar and water for 10 mins until it reaches one string consistency.
  9. Immerse the fried bread pieces in sugar syrup and just soak it for 5 mins.
  10. Plate it up: Take a serving bowl or plate. Pour some rabri at the bottom.
  11. Add the fried bread pieces on top of it and pour some rabri above it.
  12. Garnish with nuts. Serve it chilled.

 

  1. BREAD LASAGNA:

Lasagna is everyone’s favorite. The easy lasagna recipe that could be made with just some bread slices, cheese and all kitchen ingredients.

 

Ingredients:

Bread Slices

Vegetables or minced meat of your choice

 

For Red Sauce:

Tomatoes – 2 slit in middle

Garlic – 1 tbsp finely chopped

Onions – 1 medium sized finely chopped

Butter – 1 tsp

Sugar – a pinch

Salt – as needed

Pepper – as needed

Red chilly flakes (optional)

Italian seasoning (optional)

Red chilly powder – ¼ tsp

 

For White Sauce:

Maida or All purpose flour – ½ cup

Butter – 1 tsp

Garlic – 1 tbsp finely chopped

Milk – 1 cup

Salt – as needed

Pepper – as needed

Red chilly flakes (optional)

Italian seasoning (optional)

 

Directions:

  • Making red sauce:
  1. Boil water in a pan. Add slit tomatoes. Let it cook till skin peels off.
  2. Let it cool. Peel off the skin. Blend it to a puree without adding water.
  3. Heat butter in a pan. Add onions and garlic and sauté it.
  4. Add tomato puree and for seasoning add salt, sugar, pepper powder, tomato sauce, chilly powder, Italian seasoning, chilly flakes.
  5. Cook it till you get a sauce consistency
  • Making white sauce:
  1. Heat butter in a pan. Sauté garlic.
  2. Add milk. Once it starts to boil, add all-purpose flour.
  3. Stir it well without any lumps.
  4. Add seasoning: salt, pepper powder, Italian seasoning and red chilly flakes
  • Making vegetables mix: Sauté vegetables or minced meat in butter with salt and pepper till it is 80 percent cooked.
  • Making bread sheets: Trim the corners of the bread. Flatten it using a rolling pin.
  • Arrangement:
  1. Take a bowl in which you are setting lasagna. First spread some red sauce, and then white sauce and then vegetable mix. Place flattened bread above it. Repeat it till you reach top of the bowl.
  2. Grate some cheese on top. Add seasoning.
  3. Preheat oven at 180 deg C. Bake for 20-25 mins till top layer of cheese melts and gets golden brown.
