Traditional & Easy Roast Turkey Recipe!

Try this Christmas!

December is in the air and so is the spirit of Christmas! Cook up a delightful dinner with this recipe from Sheraton Grand Chennai by Executive Chef, Mukesh Sharma; Season’s greetings indeed!

Roast Turkey


  • Whole turkey cleaned
  • Onion 100 g
  • Butter 100 g
  • Garlic 100 g (whole peeled)
  • Carrot 100 g roughly cut for turkey stuffing
  • Leeks 100 g
  • Celery 100 g
  • Thyme 10 g
  • Rosemary 10 g
  • Sage 5g
  • Whole orange 2nos (sliced)
  • Dijon Mustard Paste 25g
  • Apple vinegar 30 ml
  • Salt 50 g
  • Black pepper 10 g
  • Honey 15 ml
  • Oil 100 ml


  1. Marinate the turkey with all the above ingredients and keep it chilled for about 24 hours.
  2. Preheat oven for 160’c and put the marinated turkey for 2 hours for 30 minutes.
  3. Once the roasting has been done, check the core temperature (should be 75’c), baste it with oil and finish with honey glaze.
  4. Serve hot with cranberry sauce, Brussels sprouts, and sweet potato mash.
