It begins with the introduction of Khudabaksh, a warrior with armour, swords, and a temper that flares. Played by Amitabh Bachchan, the actor is in full form and is seen whipping the sword, and severing the enemies’ heads and arms. Soon enough, we are introduced to a skilled archer – Zafira – played by Fatima Sana Sheikh. She, too, is seen in character with a bow and arrow, kicking butts just as much as the men.
Amidst all this, we meet Firangi, the biggest thug of the lot played by Aamir Khan. The trailer is high on testosterone with the men’s dialogues and conversations highlighted while the women, particularly that of Katrina Kaif’s Suraiyya, is shown to titillate, as a belly dancer of sorts. Not only is she shown much later in the trailer, but it does also appear that her character doesn’t go beyond the pretty face who happens to be paired with the main guy – Firangi – and tantalize the audience with her dancing and beauty.
Aamir Khan, who was branded the champion in promoting women-centric films particularly after his film Dangal released, joins the leagues of other actors who include female characters in their film to further their own character’s story.
Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, the film is set for a Diwali release and will be releasing in multiple languages.
