According to reports, retired Assistant Commissioner of Police Ved Bhushan claims that he wasn’t allowed to have a look at Sridevi’s hotel room but enacted her death scene in the adjacent room where the idea of an accidental drowning didn’t make sense to him. He also claimed that it’s very easy to put someone in a bathtub forcefully until the victim stops breathing without leaving any evidence of the crime.

“Sridevi died mysteriously and questions need to be answered, some questions posed after her death were relevant and logical. We felt something was hidden,” he said.

These claims come soon after the Supreme Court had rejected a plea by filmmaker Sunil Singh requesting an investigation into the actress’ untimely death.

In February this year, Sridevi, accompanied by her husband Boney Kapoor and younger daughter Khushi Kapoor, had been in Dubai for a family wedding. Sridevi went into the bathroom, and when she did not come back on time, a worried Boney Kapoor entered the bathroom with the hotel staff, where he found his wife unconscious. Sridevi was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Meanwhile, the actress was honoured at the recent Cannes Film Festival. While her family was supposed to collect the award, filmmaker Subhash Ghai accepted it on their behalf. Sridevi was also awarded the National Film Award recently in the best actress category for her performance in the Hindi film Mom.
