Six Simple Ways to Cope With COVID 19 Anxiety!

We have been locked in for almost a year in the first wave of Covid 19 and now we are already in the peak of the second wave which is turning out to be far more dangerous and fatal. As the Covid 19 crisis worsens by the day, so does the toll it is taking on our mental health. So, if you are feeling anxious and depressed that’s normal and you can eventually get through it.

Here are six ways that help you cope Covid anxiety.

  • Connect with your loved ones:

Talking with your loved ones will make you feel light and content. Stay in touch, stay connected and speak your heart out with your loved ones. Eventually you will feel better and refreshing.

  • Take a break:

Take a break from social media, stop binging on news channels. Just get your daily updates and switch off your television and gadgets. The more anxious you feel the more you should stay away from news and social media.

  • Go easy on yourself:

Doing just the bare minimum is totally acceptable right now. Don’t push yourself to be productive all day, just keep moving with what you can. If you feel burned out, you are not allowed to cry. Don’t feel bad about it, it’s healthy.

  • Focus on the present:

Focus on what you can. Live in the present, rather than worrying about the future. Take all necessary precautions and stop concentrating on physical symptoms. If you cough, it can be a regular one and need not be covid always. Sit and relax.

  • Look after your body:

Physical health play a major role on how we feel. Move your body, going for a walk even in your backyard or terrace can really help you lift your mood. Try to eat healthy, have a balanced diet and stay hydrated. Don’t compromise your sleep. Good-quality sleep makes a big difference to how we feel mentally and physically, it’s important to get enough.

  • Seek professional help:

You don’t need to do this alone. Seek for medical and professional help if you are experiencing an escalation of anxiety. Therapists are available online anytime and hence make wise use of the resources.
