Revathy Teams Up With A Bollywood Diva For Her Next Directorial!

Actor Revathy has announced her next directorial venture on her social media. She announced on her Instagram that her next movie as a director is ‘The Last Hurrah’ where actress Kajol will be playing an important role. She announced this with two Instagram posts.

Very happy to announce my next film as a Director – Last Hurrah with a favourite and charming actor ‘Kajol’. Looking forward to shaping a character I have carried with me for more than 7years. God bless 🙏🏾,” said her caption on a post with Kajol.

Revathy was last seen in the Malayalam movie ‘Virus’ where she played the role of Shailaja Teacher. She started her directorial journey with an english film called Mitr, My Friend. The movie explored themes of unhappy marriage and extramarital affairs.That movie received a National Film Award. Shobana played the lead role in this directorial debut while the screenplay was written by Sudha Kongara. The movie had an all-women’s crew and received a lot of accolades. The movie was released back in 2002. 

The movie Phir Milenge was also directed by Revathy and was based on AIDS. It starred Shilpa Shetty, Abhishek Bachchan and Salman Khan in lead roles. She then directed a Hindi movie Mumbai Cutting and another Malayalam movie Kerala Cafe. Now, she has announced her newest venture in collaboration with Kajol. 

This movie is bankrolled by BLive Productions andTake 23 Studios. Kajol also announced this movie on Twitter with the caption, “So happy to announce my next film with the super awesome Revathi directing me.. called ‘The Last Hurrah’. A heartwarming story that made me instantly say YES!  Can I hear a “Yipppeee” please?” 

Kajol was last seen on Tribhanga, a Netflix family-drama film. In 2020 she acted in Tanhaji, playing the role of Savitri Bai Malsure. Kajol and Revathy are collaborating for the very first time. They have individually acted in a lot of movies promoting Feminism.
