Pa Ranjith is currently working on his film Natchathiram Nagargiradhu starring Dushara Vijayan, Kalidas Jayaram and Kalaiyarasan Anbu in main roles. The film’s teaser was recently released, and the buzz is that it might be based on LGBTQ+ characters. Now, Ranjith also did his pooja for his untitled project with Vikram temporarily called ‘Chiyaan 61’.

Ranjith revealed that the film is to be set in the Kolar Gold Fields or KGF during the British rule, and is reportedly about how Tamils contributed to the building of this legendary town. He said that the film contains a huge star-cast and that the official announcement will follow soon. However, the buzz is that Rashmika Mandanna is all set to play the lead of the film.

Rashmika is already doing Vijay’s Varisu, Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal and Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rule. If she is to do Chiyaan 61, then this will be the fourth big project for her this year. She has currently completed Sita Ramam starrign Dulquer Salman and Mrunal Thakur. She is also awaiting the release of Goodbye and Mission Majnu in Hindi.
