Rakul Preet Singh and Nagarjuna are all set to rock the storyline of Manmadhudu 2. The film directed by Rahul Ravindran who also happens to be the husband of singer and dubbing artist Chinmayi Sripaada, is gaining  a lot of momentum and has gotten a thumbs up from the audience. There were two parts to the trailer – one introducing the character of Nagarjuna and the other introducing the character of Rakul Preet named Avanthika. She looked wonderful in the trailer and as much as we are elated for the fact that an actress gets her own teaser, Twitter simply has to do moral policing with everything. One of the scenes see Avanthika smoking and that was it for Twitter to bash her and for no reason even Chinmayi for it.

 

 

 

Chinmayi was mostly trolled because she raised her voice against Arjun Reddy director’s distasteful comments on love but not when her husband directed a film that glorifies smoking. In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Rakul addressed the troll. She said, “I don’t really get bothered by trolls. I think logo ka kaam hai kehna, kuch toh log kahenge (It’s people’s job to say something or the other, so let them). We are playing characters, now whether it is Kabir Singh, if Shahid is smoking in the film it does not make him a smoker. No way he is promoting smoking. He is playing a character Arjun Reddy that is flawed and he does those things. In real life Shahid Kapoor is a vegetarian, we all know that. People should disassociate to what we are playing onscreen is different and it is a story of that one person…we are not putting the entire girl clan into girls not showing in the right way. That’s not happening. It is that one character Avantika that smokes and it’s her story. Once you see the film, people will know why she does. Treat it like the character…For me, it was something different. I really don’t pay attention to trolls…there are bigger and better things to do.”
