Nikki Galrani Has The Best Response To The Most Cliched Question | JFW Exclusive

A dozen of films in her kitty and Nikki is on a roll. Bearing in mind her recent releases apart from Charlie Chaplin 2, we ask her about Kalakalappu 2 from last year. A comedy of sorts, the film featured Nikki Galrani and Catherine Tresa as the two female leads. Talking about sharing screen space with another actress, she snaps, “The same question again? Nobody makes a big deal out of it when working honestly. If you ask me how I feel about it, I think it is clichéd to think two female co-stars can’t work together. The characters or roles we play in the movie sets us apart. Given that my role is demanding something different from me and someone else is expected to do something else, the script weaves us together based on our individual performances. I don’t have a problem sharing screen space when I know my character has its own substance and importance to the script.”

Nikki seems quite secure in her career choices, so we boldly ask about friendship in the industry – Does she believe in shaking hands after work as well? “Of course there can be great friendships in the industry. It is often hyped that when two actresses hang out together, it ends badly – that’s pure nonsense. The hype in itself brings about negativity. There is no room for that.”

“Am I seeing someone? I won’t deny or admit!”

Dressed in full bridal trousseau, we ask her the question that everybody wants to know – is she seeing someone? “Am I seeing someone? Well. You’ll never know!” We ask her if that is a subtle acceptance and she shakes her head with a cheeky smile. “I am neither admitting nor am I denying. Only time will tell!” Probe further and she adds, “Just write it as ‘Nikki’s silence says it all as she cheekily smiled and left it at that’.”

We go on to ask about the shoot and if she enjoyed the same, dressed all in bridal and she replies, “You know what? All my friends and family have been listening to me endlessly tell them about my dream wedding ever since I was a kid! I know exactly what my dream wedding would be and it would definitely be a destination one! Something like what the Bollywood celebrities did last year. Where’s the groom you ask? I have the same question in mind!” she laughs.
