Nayanthara Replaces Anushka Shetty?

Way to go girl!

It has been a good year for Nayanthara. The actress recently made it to the Forbes list and has become one of the most sought-after actresses in south India. With an earning of Rs 15.17 crore, she occupied the 69th spot and is said to be two spots ahead of Kamal Haasan.

The latest buzz is that Nayanthara has signed her next. She will be playing the female lead in Koratala Siva’s upcoming film that will have Chiranjeevi in the male lead. It has been reported that the actress replaced Anushka Shetty.

Nayanthara is currently shooting with Chiranjeevi for the upcoming movie Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. This film is said to be based on the life of the freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy. It stars Sudeep, Vijay Sethupati, Jagapati Babu and Tamannaah in key roles. Amitabh Bachchan is set to play a cameo in it. Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy is directed by Surender Reddy. The movie is said to be a social-drama and will have high-octane action sequences. It will be bankrolled by Ram Charan in association with Matinee Entertainment.

The actress is showing no signs of slowing down. She has a long list of movies in her kitty. The Kolamaavu Kokila actress has been doing woman-centric movies recently. Her two movies including Imaikkaa Nodigal were hits and she also managed to impress fans with her performance in the Telugu flick Jai Simha that released early this year. Her upcoming movies include Airaa, Viswasam, Love Action Drama, Kolayudhir Kaalam and a film paired opposite Vijay. This will be directed by Atlee.

Nayanthara is also part of Ajith Kumar’s Viswasam. The film, directed by Siruthai Siva, has Ajith playing dual roles.

Nayanthara established herself as an actress on her own right. She chooses her films wisely, where one needn’t go for mass masala-filled films that eventually pander to the audience. In the past, her films such as Maya, Dora, and Aramm are perfect examples.
