Recently, a fanclub of actor Vijay’s shared a caricature picture of team Master where everybody seems to be keeping themselves busy. However, the only woman in the picture, Malavika was seen cooking in the kitchen. Calling out the sexism in the picture, Malavika tweeted, “The task of a woman in every hypothetical movie household is to cook? when will gender roles die? sigh.”
She further added, “And the funny thing is everyone else seems to be chilling and working while the only female in the house is doing any kind of domestic work? So sexist. haha.”
However, Malavika had to take down her tweets since she was being trolled, abused and slut-shamed for calling out gender inequality and sexism.
#MalavikaMohanan “had” to take down this. @Chinmayi akka is once again right about Twitter hatred. pic.twitter.com/5SqFXU9Y7F

A not-so-surprised Women Rights activist and singer Chinmayi Sripaada responded to the entire scenario. “You’ll be surprised who all you’ll have to port back and me thinks stone age would be spoilt if they went there :p Men and women gender roles weren’t like ‘modern’ society based on some anthropological studies :).”
Ugh 🤮 the thought process of a few men. Such ppl must be ported back to the Stone Age

However, there was a silver lining to the entire controversy. Another follower of Malavika, redesigned the entire picture and here’s what he had come up with:
Okay i fix it for you @MalavikaM_ , Happy Reading !!
Have fun like every-others in the room! pic.twitter.com/se1j4Zcxv4

And an elated Malavika was quick to respond to something as positive as this:
I love this version! 🤗 And how did you know I love reading?! 😋♥️ #masterquarantine #masterteamquarantine https://t.co/uE6gJReBo4

Well, that’s all it needs, letting women do what they want to do. Household chores are crucial during times like these but everyone without any gender discrimination must contribute equally to maintain a clean and healthy home. It is the biggest farce believed that women are responsible for a well-maintained home and this ideology must be destroyed completely.
