Kajal Aggarwal Narrowly Escaped The Tragic Crane Accident On Indian 2 Sets; Says She Is Deeply Traumatised!

Truly saddening!

In a shocking turn of events, a crane crashed and fell on the sets of Shankar’s Indian 2 where Kamal Haasan and Kajal Aggarwal were shooting. The set was being constructed at the shooting spot when a crane unexpectedly fell and crashed brutally taking the lives of 3 people and injuring more than 10 people.

Kamal Haasan took to Twitter to share the mishap. “I have faced and overcome many accidents, but today’s is the most horrific one. I lost three colleagues. The distress of their family members will be many times greater than my own pain. I share their grief as one of them. My deepest condolences to them,” he wrote.

Whereas Kajal Aggarwal confirmed that Kamal and herself were sitting inside the tent on top of which the crane actually fell. Talking about the tragic incident, Kajal said, “Words cannot describe the heartache I feel at the unexpected, untimely loss of my colleagues from last night. Krishna, Chandran, and Madhu. Sending love, strength and my deepest condolences to your families. May God give strength in this moment of desolation. #Indian2.”

She continued, “In so much shock, denial, trauma from the monstrous crane accident last night. All it took was a fraction of a second to stay alive and type this tweet. Just that one moment. Gratitude. So much learning and appreciation for the value of time and life.”

It was initially reported that director Shankar had fractured his leg but the rumours were later shut. However, Shankar’s assistant Madhu, 29, and assistant director Krishna, 34, died in the accident.

On hearing the shocking news Kamal rushed to the spot and ensured that the injured are rushed to the hospital on time.

The accident happened when a light set-up on top of a crane fell on the crew who were at the spot. The rope that was used to hold up the set-up gave way, say reports.

Director Shankar was working close to the spot but had a miraculous escape.

Indian 2 is currently being shot at EVP Studios in Chennai. The film, starring Kamal Haasan in the lead role and Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet, Siddharth in pivotal roles, is expected to hit the theatres early 2021.
