She has signed a Tamil project after a long, long time and is rather excited about it, shooting for it in Chennai for the next few weeks. Titled ‘Game Over’, the poster that released recently shows her bound in a wheelchair with a splattering of red all over the poster. It looks quirky and intriguing, quite unlike her other ventures.

Speaking about it, Taapsee says she wanted a totally different film to come her way. “If they offer me something I haven’t done before, I choose them. If I keep playing roles in my comfort zone, the audience will get bored of it. After ‘Kanchana 2’, I got so many offers to act in a horror film! I kept saying no to them until ‘Anando Brahma’ came my way. As for ‘Game Over’, I was hoping it wasn’t another horror film but producer Shashikanth told me that it’s a thriller and I was like, ‘Thank god!’. I’ll finish ‘Game Over’ by November,” she says.
She has a lot of future projects in the pipeline, including two completely interesting Bollywood projects.
“I have ‘Badla’ where I play a self-made businesswoman from Scotland. Releasing on Women’s Day, and it’s a Sujoy Ghosh film. It’s not exactly a female-centric film but yes, a woman is at the forefront of it. I am also starting my next one in February, a biopic of Shooter Dadi. It will be one of the most challenging roles to pull off and I have taken it as a risk for me,” she narrates.
When asked if she will be starring in the Hindi version of ‘U-Turn’, she doesn’t deny the reports. “I have been approached a couple of times for the Hindi version of ‘U-Turn’. It’s still in a very nascent stage, but I am yet to see the film (Kannada, Tamil, Telugu versions) to take a call.”
‘Game Over’ is a bilingual project directed by Ashwin Saravanan of ‘Maya’ and ‘Iravaakaalam’ fame, the latter touted to release soon. Ron Yohann is the music composer and the project is bankrolled by Y Not Studios of ‘Vikram Vedha’ fame.
