A goodwill ambassador for the UN, an author, a filmmaker, a star’s wife, a superstar’s daughter and most importantly a mother, Aishwarya R Dhanush has donned many hats. While on the one hand, she is Rajinikanth’s darling daughter, on the other she is a representative chosen by the UN to empower Indian women. She is the anchor that keeps the house grounded, a mother who has successfully shielded her sons from the media.

From being a sideline to a director, Aishwaryaa has come a long way. “While growing up, we were pretty much kept away from films. I always wanted to be a lawyer and my other interest was in writing stories. That’s how I ventured into making films.” She said to an online portal. “In fact, I started out by making short films with people I know. I am grateful to Dhanush for giving me the confidence to make feature films.”

“For me, the transition was much easier as I was working with people I know and whenever I got panicky, Dhanush would help me out,” she concluded.

On asking how Dhanush is as a husband, she added, “One huge similarity between my father (Rajinikanth) and my husband (Dhanush) is that they know enough to keep films out of our lives. They are both great husbands; as well as great fathers! They balance it so well that it made it easier for me as well (while making films).”
