Now, in a report dated September 14, 2021, the National Committee on Serious Adverse Effects Following Immunization has found that Vivek’s death was coincidental and not related to the Covaxin shot that he had taken on April 15, 2021. 

This clarification is a much needed one because the hesitancy towards taking the vaccine has impeded the vaccination process in Tamil Nadu. The AEFI committee report is final, as this process to establish whether the cause of death is linked to the COVID-19 vaccine goes through many levels of verifications.

The committee has ruled that the official medical reason for the 59-year-old’s death was: ‘Acute myocardial infarction with cardiogenic shock with ventricular fibrillation in a known case of hypertension.’ This means, the report rules that the actor suffered a cardiac arrest due to his underlying hypertension issues. 

Actor Vivek is one of the best comedians in Tamil cinema who created a niche for his comedy. His jokes, mixed with social messages are remembered and referred to till date. The news of his death came to his fans as a shock because of his healthy and active lifestyle. He has been a part of a lot of social initiatives and has done a lot for environmental conservation.
