A Dream Come True: Malavika Mohanan Talks About Thalapathy 64!

Exciting lineup ahead for Malavika!

Her debut with Beyond The Clouds was commendable but she was immediately a favourite ever since she donned the role of Poongodi in Rajinikanth’s film Petta directed by Karthik Subbaraj. Her screentime may have been short but Malavika Mohanan sure did win hearts in Kollywood ever since. Her onscreen presence, her charisma and her potential has gotten yet another huge chance to shine brighter. Yes, Malavika is now the female lead in Vijay’s next film.

Thalapathy 64 has begun his first schedule and is being directed by Maanagaram fame Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film also stars Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi who will be seen sporting the role of the antagonist. Apart from that, Shanthnu Bhagyaraj and Malayalam actor Antony Varghese will also be seen playing pivotal roles. As this project seems to get bigger, in a recent interview with The Times of India, Malavika talked about the excitement of her upcoming project.

“I am really excited because I am a huge fan of Vijay sir and I never really thought I will end up romancing him. It is a fabulous team and I am a fan of Lokesh, too. I have seen his Managaram and loved it. So, I am really looking forward to begin shooting with the team,” she said.

She further talked about her role saying, “This is a new role, something that I haven’t done before. Well, in Rajini sir’s film, I played a small but an important role. But in this, I play the female lead. It is a full-fledged role and my first as a solo female lead in Tamil.”
