Olympics 2016 is currently underway in Rio in Brazil. Brazilian rugby player Isadora Cerullo accepted a marriage proposal from her girlfriend, Marjorie Enya, at the medal ceremony. The Brazilian team had lost the match to Australia at the knockout rounds of the competition. The team stayed back to watch the medal ceremony when Isadora’s girlfriend of two years took the microphone and popped the question. Isadora was completely blown and accepted Majorie’s proposal. The latter then tied a yellow ribbon on Isadora’s hand to mark their love! The scene melted all hearts present at the stadium. Cameras were quick to capture the moment and social media has rightly made the proposal famous on the internet! While speaking to the BBC Majorie said, ‘As soon as I knew she was in the squad, I thought I have to make this special. I know rugby people are amazing and they would embrace it.’
Brazil had legalized same sex marriages in 2013.
