Vidya Balan: “Can’t Blame Movies Completely For Stalking”

She came, she conquered and she continues to break stereotypes. Vidya Balan has not only set the standards high, but has also competed with herself and has given the best with each movie. A lover of thrillers, the talented star has given us few of the best performances in recent times.

The National award winner is more than a star; she’s a brilliant artist! Her expressions speak a thousand words and we can’t wait for her to weave the Kahaani magic again this year. She has set the record straight that she’s here to stay. Vidya Balan also has a strong opinion and doesn’t shy away from speaking her mind.

As the actress awaits the release of her upcoming movie Kahaani 2, she speaks out on the rising cases of stalking-related crimes in the country.

She said,”It’s very unfortunate but we can’t blame it all on movies. Yes, there is some amount of glorification but there are many other reasons for these crimes. I think a sane mind will not commit a crime like that. People are becoming more aware of things like objectifying women in item songs. Audience is changing but it’s scary to be stalked. What happened in Chennai is unfortunate and really scary. We can’t really say it’s all a mistake of the movies.”

Vidya is known to speak her mind and it’s great that she’s one of the few celebrities to have spoke out on an issue as critical.
