Actress Mrunal Thakur sets her foot into the Tamil film industry with her debut film ‘Surya 42’. Mrunal started her career initially with Hindi soap operas and then got introduced through Marathi films. Her first recognition came from the Hindi film Toofaan. Mrunal had a breakthrough in the South film industry with Sita Ramam. After the success of Sita Ramam her social media pictures gained huge attention, while fans started to anticipate the actress’s Tamil debut. This made Mrunal Thakur grab an opportunity in Tamil and she has been reportedly roped in to play an important role in Suriya 42.

Suriya’s 42nd film is touted to be a period film. Suriya is speculated to be seen in a variety of roles across time in the film, and Mrunal is expected to play his pair in the period portion. Directed by Siruthai Siva, the film also has Disha Patani as one of the female leads. Disha Patani has already completed filming a few portions of the film. The cinematography of the film is handled by Vetri and the music for the film is given by Devi Sri Prasad. Mrunal Thakur will be hitting the sets for her shoot in February. The dates of her joining the cast were yet to be officially announced.

Mrunal’s claim to fame from soap operas came from Kumkum Bhagya and then her appearance on Nach Baliye 7 also helped. After doing two Marathi films, she was introduced to Bollywood with films like Love Sonia and Super 30. She then did Batla House, Ghost Stories, Dhamaka and Jersey. The actress is also awaiting the release of Pooja Meri Jaan and Pippa in Hindi. Her films, Aankh Micholi and Gumrah are in different stages of production. Mrunal will also be seen in Nani’s 30th film.
