This is How Many Crores Vijay’s Master Movie Was Paid For Early OTT Release?

After almost a year’s wait, one among Vijay’s most hyped films Master hit the theaters on 13th this month.  “JD” (Vijay) is the dean of student welfare. He is every student’s favorite and management’s adversary. He fights passionately for the cause of students while battling alcoholism. JD is sent to juvenile prison as a faculty for young criminals. There he uncovers a whole network of racketeering headed by Bhavani (VJS) who is further exploiting these youngsters. The movie follows how JD takes down this criminal empire in a series of fight scenes, mass entries, political dialogues, and a horde of characters who are plain needless.

Intially it was speculated that Thalapathy Vijay has met with the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami requesting him to permit theatres to run with 100 percent audience capacity. The movie hit the theaters on with 50% or less capacity. Now after weeks of release though it is running in the theaters it was suddenly released in OTT platform.

According to media reports it is being said that Amazon Prime had paid a whopping 36 crores for the streaming rights of Master, and now it has been revealed that they had paid an additional amount of Rs 15.5 crores for early premiere of the movie on OTT., Thus in total Master starring Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi has earned 51.5 crores via OTT streaming rights alone.

Thalapathy Vijay’s Master directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj was one of the most anticipated films of the year. The film also starring Malavika Mohanan, Gauri Kishan, Andrea Jeremiah, Shanthnu Bhagyaraj among others has Anirudh composing the music of the film. Some of the tracks from the album are already a huge hit. While the first half is worthwhile for all the clinched mass scenes, the movie breaks for an interval in quite a promising setup that would only make you believe that it is now when the movie begins. Unfortunately, you are mistaken as the second half is further only a colossal mess. Clumsily spaced scenes, complete lack of detailing, casts who come and go with absolutely no defined roles, all tied together with a big, bad finish.  (Click here to read more)
