She has been periodically sharing pictures of her setting up the Christmas tree over the years. Last year, she shared pictures of her and her husband, Naga Chaitanya, decorating the Christmas tree together, their first one as a man and wife.

On the work front, Samantha Akkineni has had a lot of releases in 2018 alone. She’s had five releases (including 2 bilinguals) that have done well at the box-office. She started her year with ‘Rangasthalam’, then ‘Mahanati’ (‘Nadigaiyar Thilagam’ in Tamil), ‘Irumbu Thirai’, ‘Seema Raja’, and ‘U-Turn’ (in Tamil and Telugu). She has Thiagarajan Kumararaja’s Super Deluxe, featuring Vijay Sethupathi as a trans woman called Shilpa. The film will also have Fahadh Faasil, Ramya Krishnan, Mysskin, Gayathrie, Naveen Vikram, Jackson Joy and Bagavathi Perumal in pivotal roles. In the pipeline, has a film with actor-husband Naga Chaitanya. The schedule of the film was wrapped up recently in Visakhapatnam. The two who met on the sets of ‘Yen Maaya Chesaave’, got married in 2017 October. This will be their fourth film together and first as husband and wife.

She has reportedly signed in to be a part of a remake of a Korean film. According to sources, she has signed on to star in a film which will be a remake of ‘Miss Granny’, a 2014 Korean film about a woman in her 70s who magically finds herself in the body of her 20-year-old self after having her picture taken at a mysterious photo studio. The film was a runaway success when it had released four years ago.

There are also rumours doing the rounds that she might play the lead in the Telugu version of the recently released Tamil film ’96’. Telugu film industry’s top producer Dil Raju will be bankrolling the remake under his banner Sri Venkateswara Creations. So far, the lead actors have not been finalised although it is speculated that Samantha Akkineni might play the role of Jaanu. Actor Nani was rumoured to have been interested in the role but turns out, he’s only interested in co-producing it.
