Sai Dhanshika injures herself while shooting for women-centric movie Yogi Da

Her role is inspired from the movie Kabali.

Sai Dhanshika who is shooting for her upcoming flick titled Yogi Da (inspired by her character in Kabali) in Coimbatore has injured herself.
A female-centric movie and an action entertainer, Yogi Da is directed by Gautham Krishna. Music for the movie is by A R Rahman’s younger sister Ishrat. The movie is bankrolled by Jatpatma Cinemas. It has Bollywood actor Kabir Singh sharing screen space with Dhanshika. Sayaji Shinde and Manobala play supporting roles.
Recently, action choreographer Ganesh shot a high-octane stunt sequence with Sai Dhanshika and few stunt actors. Despite Gautham insisting that a body double be used for the risky action block, Sai Dhanshika preferred to do it all by herself.
During the shoot, a bottle hurled at Sai Dhanshika was mistimed and hit her just below the left eye. The actress was injured badly and immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
A well-trained silambam expert, Sai Dhanshika is known for her passion to do action sequences. She started off with Jayam Ravi’s Peranmai. The young actress gained popularity for her stellar fight in Kabali, where she goes all guns blazing for an action sequence in Bangkok in the movie. And much recently, her silambam show at a public event went viral in social media.
A video clip of Dhanshika’s daredevil action sequences in Kannada film Ugharsha won her more fans.
Gone are those days when a female character would cower in fear until her macho man came rescuing her. It has become a recent trend among heroines to do women-centric movies that have action sequences.  They are more than willing to do acrobatic stunts, take risks and make a mark for themselves.
