Producer Postpones Trailer Of Vikram & Keerthy Suresh’s Next!

The trailer was set for a grand release today!

The trailer of Saamy Square, starring Vikram and Keerthy Suresh, was all set for a release today, with fans waiting to see the actor reprise his cop act from the 2003 film. However, the producer, Shibu Thameens, has announced that the trailer release will have to wait because of the ongoing issue in Tamil Nadu.

In a bid to be in solidarity with those fighting it out at Thoothukudi over the Sterlite Plant, Thameens announced that they would like to pay respect to those 13 people who were shot dead.

“It’s not the time for celebration,so with all your permission ( #Saamy Lovers and #Chiyaan fans ) we are postponing our trailer launch..Will update, let’s pray for the ppl who lost their lives, more over pray this kind of situation should not continue Nd never happen [sic],” he wrote.

Saamy Square features ‘Chiyaan’ Vikram’s return to the character after 15 years. While the original released in 2003 and featured Trisha as the female lead, this film features Keerthy Suresh. Directed by Hari, the film has mostly been shot in Chennai, Karaikudi, Delhi, Mussoorie and Nepal. Saamy Square‘s other cast members include Bobby Simha as the antagonist, comedian Soori, Prabhu, John Vijay, Ishwarya and others.

With music by Devi Sri Prasad, a lot is expected in the music department too. The film’s motion poster, that released last week, created a huge buzz on the internet. The actor is pairing up with Keerthy Suresh for the first time, with stills from their movie doing the rounds. Needless to say, Keerthy’s look in the film is a major departure from her recent Mahanati, where she played yesteryear actress Savitri.
