#MeToo Movement is a PR Stunt: Tamannaah Bhatia!

It’s a ploy, says Tamannaah!

The #metoo movement did not stick around in India as much as it did in Hollywood and how! But, when Tanushree Dutta opened up about being sexually harassed 10 years before by Nana Patekar, the entire movement gained momentum yet again. This, since then started off as a huge movement in India and down south singer Chinmayi Sripada gave it the weightage and started the fire; and many followed her trail down South supporting her stance. Many came out in support of the moment in the film industry and it gained momentum.

The recent leading lady to comment on this, was Tamannaah Bhatia. In an interview with an Online Daily, Tamannaah said, “You know there were different allegations made on different people and I think the whole idea of me too movement was to get people to talk about it and share their experiences. If there is an experience that someone had and if they are talking about, it takes a lot of courage to do that. But somewhere I feel me too moment lost its gush because it became more of a PR ploy which shouldn’t have been. It should have been given its due respect and should have been treated with more serious sense and more serious note.”

Makes sense, right?
