Who says actresses after their marriage and kids won’t get to star in big films? Starring in a film that focuses on her role more, where she is the lead, is Jyothika and she’s on a roll at that. With Chekka Chivantha Vaanam releasing this month and Kaatrin Mozhi releasing next month, Jyothika has signed yet another film!

Film production and distribution company shared the details on Tuesday evening. Directed by debutant S Raj, the film’s shooting will commence next month and the title, cast and crew details will be announced shortly.

A source says that the film will be a drama and shooting will take place in Chennai. Further details will be shared in due course of time.

As for Jyothika, her last release was Naachiyaar that released in February this year and won her praise considering she played a foul-mouthed, temperamental cop. Her role was much appreciated as it was something she had never attempted before. She earned brickbats, too, for abusing on screen as many felt that a woman should not abuse. That, however, hasn’t hindered her popularity.

In Mani Ratnam’s Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, that is releasing on September 27, Jyothika plays a crucial role and is paired with Arvind Swamy’s character. She also has Kaatrin Mozhi, releasing on October 18. Directed by Radha Mohan, the film is the Tamil remake of the Hindi film Tumhari Sulu that starred Vidya Balan.
