“I enjoyed getting punched by Rajinikanth!”, Akshay Kumar

Bollywood superstar talks about Kollywood superstar!

Superstar’s upcoming film 2.0 is going to be the biggest blockbuster of this year. Directed by Shankar this is a sci-fi film and sequel to the 2010 release Endhiran wherein Rajinikanth played a scientist called Chitti Babu. Starring Amy Jackson in the female lead and Akshay Kumar said to play a negative role, the film is sparing nothing when it comes to budget and is probably one of the most expensive films ever made in India! What’s best about this movie is the role Akshay Kumar is to play in the movie. The first look hints at something that resembles a monster and we are in awe how much this is going to be a superhero universe film!

Speaking to Mid-Day the actor said, “Many people asked me why I wanted to play a villain and I told them, ‘Why not?’ A hero exists only when there’s a villain. I had never imagined that I would be part of the costliest Indian film.”

While he made it clear on why he accepted the role, Akshay also pointed that he and the rest of the team were simply awestruck by Rajinikanth’s style. On this, he had told in the same interview, “Once, we were just sitting on the set, waiting for the next shot and he (Rajinikanth) brushed some dirt off his pants. The entire unit was awestruck by how stylishly he did it. Everything he does is so stylish. I even enjoyed getting punched by him.”
