Sridevi’s eldest daughter Jhanvi Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor’s younger brother Ishaan Khattar are all set to make their cinema debut in Shashank Khaitan’s Dhadak. A love story, the film is said to be the Hindi remake of the Marathi film Sairat, directed by Nagraj Manjule. The film began shooting in December last year, with the makers often sharing new posters.
The trailer is out and features the young lovers and their romance. It begins with a breezy look at how they first saw each other with Madhu (Ishaan) singing ‘Tu Jaane Naa’ for Parthavi (Janhvi). Set in small town, these two begin a relationship with all things cute and cheesy roped in. Soon enough, it takes a dark turn. There’s opposition from both the sides, with the girl’s rich family opposing the boy’s poor upbringing. It gets violent, too, when nothing seems to work out even after they elope. Will the two lovers make it till the end?
The film, produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, is slated for a July 20 release.
