We all know what a handsome man Madhavan is! We also knew he debuted in the Mani Ratnam classic Alaipayuthey. But did you know that was not his first on-screen appearance? We present some interesting tidbits about the chocolate boy that you did not know!
- Madhavan made a small cameo appearance in the 1996 Hindi film, Raat Ki Subhah Nahi.
- Mani Ratnam first chose Madhavan to play a prominent role in Iruvar (1997) but later dropped him as he felt Madhavan was too young for the role.
- In 1997 Maddy appeared as an Indian cop in the Hollywood production Inferno.
- Remember Sea hawks? The popular series on Sony way back in 1998, Madavan played the role of the ship’s captain. That was his first TV stint.
- In 2001 Madhavan made Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, a remake of Gautam Menon’s hit Tamil film, Minnale.
- Madhavan grew up in Jamshedpur in Jharkhand. His father worked was a Tata Steel in Jamshedpur. This is why, despite being a Tamil Brahmin, he is very well versed in Hindi.
- Maddy wanted to join to join the Indian Army and represent the NCC at International meets.
- While in college, Madhavan spend a year in Canada as an exchange program student.
- Madhavan met his wife Sarita at a public speaking seminar in 1991, he married her after 8 years of courtship in 1999.
