9 Binge Worthy Movies & Series On OTT That Released In June!

Ever since the lockdown began, OTT platforms have become famous and have made it easier for binge-watchers to watch movies and shows from home. On the other hand, various platforms are also releasing  a variety of  movies and series on their respective platforms. Here are 9 June movies and series that have released or are yet to be released on OTT:

  • Maharani:

Directed by Karan Sharma, Maharani is a web-series in Hindi starring Huma Qureshi. It revolves around the protagonist Rani Bharti who is a simple homemaker and the wife of the Chief Minister of Bihar. She desires to go to her hometown after her husband resigns from the post, but things take a turn when she is named as his successor. How she handles the situation forms the rest of the story. The series is a Political drama with 1 season containing 10 episodes.

  • The Family Man 2:

Starring Manoj Bajpayee, Priya Mani and Samantha Akkineni, The Family Man makers have released their second season in Hindi. The series went through a lot of controversies and backlash before its release but has fared well after. The second season introduces a new enemy while fighting with the already existing adversary. Manoj Bajpayee’s Srikant is given the task of handling the twin tasks and saving his people. The 2nd season has 9 episodes.

  • Skater Girl:

Skater Girl is an Indian-American sports drama in Hindi, directed by Manjari Makijany. Starring newbie Rachel Saanchita Gupta, the movie tells the story of Prerna, a teen in rural India who discovers a life-changing passion for skateboarding. She faces a rough road as she follows her dream to compete in a national competition against society’s expectations and norms. The movie is a coming-of-age story revolving around confidence and courage.

  • Sunflower:

Directed by Vikas Bahl, Sunflower is a crime-thriller series in Hindi starring Sunil Grover and Ranvir Shorey in lead roles. The story revolves around a murder-mystery based in a middle-class housing society in Mumbai, called Sunflower. It is a typical whodunnit series which keeps you anxious till the very end. The 1st season of this series has 8 episodes in total.

  • Shaadisthan: 

String Kirti Kulhari, Medha Shankar and Nivedita Bhattacharya in lead roles, Shaadisthan is a Hindi musical-drama movie directed by Raj Singh Chaudhary. It tells the story of a road trip taken by a conservative family who want to get their 17-year-old daughter married. On the trip, they have a musical band for company. The rest of the story is about how friendships and relationships evolve in the road-trip and how the journey gets crazier.

  • Rang De:

Rang De is a Telugu Romantic-comedy movie starring Keerthy Suresh and Nithiin in lead roles. After initially releasing in the theaters, the movie is now released on OTT. The film is a cute romantic story involving two characters Anu and Arjun who have been neighbours since their childhood but have different perspectives about their relationship with each other. How they unite forms the rest of the story.

  • Jagame Thandhiram:

Starring Dhanush and Aishwarya Lekshmi in lead roles, Jagame Thandhiram is the latest release on OTT. It is a Tamil action-gangster film directed by Karthik Subbaraj. The film also stars Joju George and James Cosmo in supporting roles. The story is about a clever, carefree gangster who is recruited to help an overseas crime lord take down a rival. He is caught off guard by the moral dilemmas that follow. It is a much awaited movie that has just dropped on OTT.

  • Sherni:

Starring Vidya Balan, Sherni is a Hindi Drama movie directed by Amit Masurkar. Its story revolves around an upright Forest Officer who strives for balance in a world of man-animal conflict while she also seeks her true calling in a hostile environment. It also stars Mukhul Chadda and Vijay Raaz in supporting roles. The movie is one revolving around wildlife and nature while also concentrating on a strong female-lead.

  • Ray:

Sayantan Mukherjee’s Ray is yet to be released on OTT. It is a tribute to writer and auteur Satyajit Ray who was a legendary film director and one that created history in Indian cinema. The series is to have 4 short stories comprising satirical and psychological thriller genres. Amongst others, Manoj Bajpayee, Ali Fazal, Radhika Madan, Swetha Basu Prasad are playing important roles. The series is releasing on 25th June.
